April 1987 Established a company with investments from Tatsumi Shokai and Japan Cement
April 1988 Commenced operation of Fuji Plant
May Commenced operation of Soma Plant
October Commenced operation of Okayama Plant
December 1990 Commenced operation of Akita Plant
January 1991 Established FIMATEC Korea as a joint venture of Korea Electrothermal Chemicals and Sumitomo Cement Co., Ltd.
January 1992 Licensed technology to PT. FINEXCO PRIMA Indonesia
April 1993 Commenced operation of FINEXCO Plant in Surabaya City
April 1994 Doubled capital to 120 million yen
(MITSUI & CO., LTD. and Mitsubishi Corporation took an equity stake)
July Established F.M.T as a joint venture between Tatsumi Shokai and MITSUI & CO., LTD.
January 1995 Established FIMATEC U.S.A in Seattle, U.S.A.
June Established F.M.T. (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in Bangkok
July Established Ishinomaki Carbonate as a joint venture with Nippon Paper Industries

January 1997 Established Specialty Minerals FMT as a joint venture with Minerals Technologies (U.S.A.) and Mitsubishi Corporation
November Established FIMAKEM INDIA in Udaipur, India as a joint venture with WOLKEM INDIA
August 1998 Increased capital through third-party allotment to Nippon Cement and others

June 2000 Commenced operation of Specialty Minerals FMT Shiraoi Plant
August 2003 Established Georgia Office in the U.S.A.
October 2005 Merged with JMC
July 2006 Acquired domestic distributor rights for PCC and TALC manufactured by Specialty Minerals and commenced operations
January 2009 Acquired sole distributor rights for Biolatex manufactured by EcoSynthetix and commenced operations
September Moved head office to Toranomon, Tokyo
March 2011 Sustained damage at Ishinomaki Carbonate from Great East Japan Earthquake
December 2012. Dissolved Ishinomaki Carbonate
Commenced anhydrous gypsum related business
January 2013 Commenced full-scale operation of anhydrous gypsum fracturing and processing
April 2015 Invested in the increased production of powder product AFF
July Opened an office in Malaysia
February 2016 Moved head office to Kanda Awaji-cho, Tokyo
March Acquired sole domestic distributor rights for the Halloysite products of Applied Minerals, Inc. and commenced operations
October Withdrew from FIMAKEM INDIA
April 2017 Established TG FMT Sdn. Bhd. as a joint venture with Malaysian rubber glove manufacturer Top Glove.
March 2018 Commenced operation of TG FMT Sdn Bhd. Plant
